Question 1. Define, discuss and analyze the issues surrounding the concept of employment at will and its relationship to an employees rights both at the workplace and outside the workplace.
In your answer be sure to cover parts A, B and C below in the order given. Also, use specific examples from any relevant articles, cases and/or relevant videos discussed in class or available on Black Board.
A. Define and discuss the concept of employment-at-will and define and discuss the concept of wrongful discharge. Why does the concept of wrongful discharge challenge the employment at will concept? What additional factors may need to be considered when discharging an employee in a unionized workplace?
B. List and discuss at least two exceptions to the employment-at-will doctrine that can lead to a wrongful discharge action.
C. Analyze and discuss why an employer may want to establish a policy to regulate behavior outside the workplace. In establishing and enforcing such a policy discuss what factors an employer must consider.
Question 2. Analyze and discuss why managing non-salary benefit compensation is important to any organization.

- List, analyze and discuss at least three non-salary benefits that non-unionized employers may choose to provide or to contribute to (that is, benefits that are not required by law)
- Discuss and explain the challenges facing a manager in offering flexible work scheduling
